Hiro Link
Type: IoT Controller Board (Hardware) Layer: Physical / In-Machine Audience: System-wide (installed in every connected machine)
Description
Hiro Link is a controller board physically attached to each laundry machine (washer or dryer). It is the hardware bridge that makes a traditional laundry machine "smart" and connectable to the Hiro ecosystem.
Core Functions
- Receives activation commands from Hiro Platform and starts the machine
- Reports machine status and response data back to Hiro Platform
- Operates across different machine brands and types (hardware-agnostic within supported protocols)
Operating Modes
Hiro Link supports two operating modes depending on machine compatibility:
| Mode | Connection Type | Capabilities |
|---|---|---|
| Protocol-based | Full protocol integration with machine | Activation + full telemetry (real-time status, cycle data, error reporting, machine response) |
| Pulse-based | Simple pulse/signal activation | Activation only (no telemetry or status feedback) |
Telemetry depth depends on machine model and protocol support.
Relationships
| Connected Product | Relationship |
|---|---|
| Hiro Platform | Receives activation commands from Platform; sends machine status and telemetry back |
| Hiro App | Customer actions in Hiro App trigger activation commands routed through Platform to Hiro Link |
| Hiro Kiosk | Customer actions at Kiosk trigger activation commands routed through Platform to Hiro Link |
| Hiro Live | Machine status data collected by Hiro Link flows through Platform to Hiro Live for merchant viewing |
Position
The bridge — makes any laundry machine smart and connected.
